They are reversible. The lanes carry traffic toward Atlanta in the morning and away in the afternoon. If your pattern runs against that — you work in Canton and commute from the south, or you work an evening shift — they do nothing for you at all.

They start at Sixes Road. North of Exit 11 you are in general-purpose traffic regardless. For a Canton address, the practical question is how long it takes you to reach Sixes Road, because that portion is unimproved by the express lanes.

You need an active Peach Pass to use them, and tolls are dynamic — the price moves with demand, so the cost of a bad-traffic day is highest exactly when you most want the lane.
