About 90 minutes north of Canton, Blue Ridge is the quintessential North Georgia mountain town — cool air, a walkable downtown, and more than enough to fill a day (or a whole weekend).

Ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

The town's signature experience: a vintage train that runs along the Toccoa River up to the twin towns of McCaysville and Copperhill and back. Book ahead — it fills up fast in fall.

The walkable main drag is packed with local shops, galleries, and cafes — the Mercantile is a fun stop, and you'll find plenty of spots for lunch or a coffee break.

Mercier Orchards

Just outside town, Mercier is a beloved family orchard — apple and berry picking in season, fresh cider, and famous fried pies. Grab a bag to take home.

Lake Blue Ridge

For a scenic finish, Lake Blue Ridge serves up gorgeous mountain-lake views — a pretty place to stretch your legs before the drive back.
