From 8:00 AM to noon, the City of Canton Public Works facility at 2525 Ridge Road will accept items that don't fit the regular curbside pickup—and it's free for Canton city residents.

This twice-a-year event has become a favorite for homeowners tackling seasonal cleanouts. The fall edition gives you a convenient way to dispose of electronics, paint, tires, and documents before the holidays roll around.

What You Can Bring (and the Few Rules to Know)

Paper shredding is one of the most popular services at the event—and there's no limit. Whether you have a shoebox of old tax returns or file cabinets full of paperwork, bring it all. Secure document destruction is handled on-site, giving you peace of mind.

Electronics recycling covers everything from old laptops and printers to cell phones and cables. One exception: tube televisions carry a $25 cash fee due to the specialized handling required. If you're bringing one of those bulky CRT sets, have cash on hand and plan for help unloading—they're heavy.

Paint (both oil-based and latex) is accepted, but cans must be at least half full and you're capped at 10 gallons per vehicle. Containers won't be returned, so bring everything in disposable buckets or boxes.

Tires are limited to eight per vehicle, and wheels must already be removed. No dealer tires are accepted.

This event is exclusively for residents who live inside Canton city limits—you'll want to confirm your address qualifies before making the trip. The Public Works team verifies residency, so bring a driver's license showing a Canton address just in case.
