Canton's Fall Festival Lineup: 3 Weekends You Don't Want to Miss

Denim Fest, Jack O'Lantern Jamboree, and the Cherokee County Art & Jazz Festival all happen in Canton this October. Here's your complete guide.
Canton's Fall Calendar Is Packed—Three Festivals in Two Weeks
October in Canton isn't just about cooler weather and changing leaves—this year, three of our most beloved fall festivals are happening within an eight-day stretch. Whether you're drawn to local history, Halloween fun, or live jazz under the trees, there's something for everyone this month.
Denim Fest Returns October 17
The Mill on Etowah kicks off the festival season with its fifth annual Denim Fest on Saturday, October 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This all-day celebration honors Canton's rich textile heritage—the historic Canton Cotton Mill, now home to The Mill on Etowah at 225 Reformation Parkway, was once one of the largest denim producers in the world.
This year's Denim Fest brings carnival rides and classic midway games, local vendors, pop-up bars, and SEC football on the big screen. Admission is free, though a ten-dollar wristband gives you access to the carnival area. If you're curious about the history behind the festival, you can also join the interactive "Come to Work with Salty" walk—a family-friendly tour created in partnership with History Cherokee that explores what life was like for mill workers back in the day.
Reserve your spot and check the full schedule on The Mill's event page.
A Halloween Double-Header on October 24
The following weekend is when things get really interesting—Canton is hosting two major festivals on the same day.
Jack O'Lantern Jamboree at The Mill on Etowah
The third annual Jack O'Lantern Jamboree takes over The Mill on Etowah for a two-day Halloween celebration on October 24 and 25. Friday hours are noon to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday runs noon to 7:00 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features trick-or-treating throughout the festival grounds, outdoor movies on The Green, live music, roaming Halloween characters, local vendors, and plenty of costume-clad fun. It's designed for all ages and even welcomes four-legged family members.
Cherokee County Art & Jazz Festival Downtown
Just a few miles away at Cherokee Veterans Park on Cumming Highway, the second annual Cherokee County Art & Jazz Festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 24. This free community event blends live jazz performances—from smooth contemporary to traditional improvisation—with juried fine art from local and regional artists. You'll find original paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, and more, all handmade and available for purchase. Food vendors and a laid-back outdoor setting make it a perfect Saturday afternoon.
If you're ambitious, you could start your day with jazz and art downtown, then head over to The Mill for trick-or-treating and a Halloween movie under the stars as the sun sets.
Why Canton's Fall Festival Scene Matters
These festivals aren't just weekend entertainment—they're woven into the fabric of what makes Canton feel like home. Denim Fest celebrates the town's industrial roots and the transformation of a historic cotton mill into a vibrant community gathering place. The Jack O'Lantern Jamboree has quickly become a fall tradition for families who want a little Halloween magic without the haunted-house intensity. And the Art & Jazz Festival showcases the creative heartbeat of Cherokee County in a way that feels both elevated and accessible.
